Channel Presets
In the NCast encoder architecture, a "Channel" is similar to a template or configuration-setup, a container for all the parameters needed to launch a streaming or recording "Session". A "Channel" specifies unicast or multicast streaming addresses, encoding bit-rates, frame sizes and layouts, graphical overlays, recording options, upload options, notifications and more. There are many Channels available for configuration, and serial commands from a touch panel may select which Channel to start.
These Channel Presets allow for easy configuration of multi-window recordings. The Main window, PIP window and one or more overlay graphics are pre-configured for use. You may substitue your own graphic or logo simply by uploading the required-size graphic in the Channel Modify menu. The "Left" or "Right" options are needed for correct alignment of the podium window with respect to the room projection screen.
To install a preset, first download the .zip file to your PC. Then login to the encoder as Admin and select the "Channels" tab. On the right you will see an "Import" button. Click on the button and Upload the .zip file from your PC. After successful Upload you may view the preset by starting the Channel (button on the left) and then going to the "Sources" page and clicking on "Video Preview".
Once you have completed your modifications to a Channel, be sure to "Export" the Channel and download the .zip file to your PC for future reference.
